Jaydeep Karandikar is currently working as R&D staff researcher in the Machining and Machine Tool Research Group at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) at the Oak Ridge Nation Laboratory. From 2014 to 2019, he was a lead research engineer at GE Research where he was responsible for developing advanced manufacturing cost-effective solutions and overseeing successful implementation into production. Jaydeep has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Jaydeep is the recipient of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer award. His broad research interests include smart manufacturing, and process monitoring & optimization.
